About the Park

The Parque Central Free Trade Zone is located in the municipality of Turbaco, Bolívar, Colombia. Covering an area of 115 hectares it hosts 52 companies from the logistics and industrial sectors, generating 2,350 jobs. The main sectors represented include logistics, construction materials, metalworking, foods & beverages, petrochemical derivatives and plastics, hygiene products, wood furniture, and others. All the companies present are SMEs and 23% of the companies have foreign capital investments.

Achievements

Photovoltaic Solar Floating Farm

ZFPC is committed to renewable energy. Currently, it operates a photovoltaic solar system installed on the roof of its administrative building and common areas, generating 167.10 MWh/year, mitigating 68.76 tons of CO2 annually, and achieving a 23% reduction in energy costs.

Additionally, ZFPC plans to install a 2.8 MW floating photovoltaic solar plant in its 16,000 m² rainwater lagoon. This plant will generate 4.6 GWh/year and mitigate 760 tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to planting 53,000 trees. The total estimated investment for this project is USD 2.5 million.
