Achievements

After participating in GEIPP, the park has improved its infrastructure and working environment. These improvements have not only enhanced production efficiency but also created an attractive working environment, attracting more labor and businesses, contributing to the economic development of the region. The workforce has increased to 52,070 people, creating an additional 3,263 direct jobs.

With support from UNIDO/GEIPP, Amata Biên Hòa Industrial Park has made significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through various initiatives. The park has replaced high-energy-consuming equipment with energy-efficient alternatives, integrated OZONE water treatment systems into chiller units to enhance efficiency and lower operating costs for tenants, and adopted green technology by installing solar panels to provide renewable electricity to office buildings.

Additionally, by implementing 60 Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) opportunities across enterprises within the park, Amata Biên Hòa has successfully reduced CO₂ emissions by 1,588 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year.

Beyond emissions reduction, the company remains committed to environmental sustainability by greening workspaces and production areas. One key initiative is the Tree Planting Day program, which has been ongoing for the past eight years. In 2023 alone, AMATA, with contributions from the local community and industrial park customers, planted 2,343 pine trees.

Amata City Bien Hoa Industrial Park has organized multiple blood donation activities over the past five years. In 2023, the community donated 1,200 unit of blood (equivalent to 418,250 ml blood) to support emergency and treatment needs for patients. Additionally, AMATA City Bien Hoa sponsored community support activities, including providing gifts to families in difficult circumstances, supporting families of war invalids, and donating computers to schools.

Before participating in the UNIDO/GEIPP, the Amata City Bien Hoa Industrial Park did not have activities dedicated to investigating risks associated with climate change or regularly updating this information.

Now, Amata has a comprehensive system, including a plan by the developer to address climate change and respond to incidents/accidents on a regular basis.

Additionally, a team has been established to monitor indicators related to the Eco-Industrial Park. In 2023, AMATA City Bien Hoa Industrial Estate was honored with the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses in the Trade-Services Sector Award.

In 2020, Amata achieved 41% of the requirements of the EIP international framework. With the support of the Project, the level of compliance to these requirements has increased to 86% by the end of 2023.
