About the Park

Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) was established in 1993 . Over 160 tenant companies have filled at least 80% (1214 Ha) of its total area. The industrial area is a collaboration between Sinarmas Land and ITOCHU Corporation of Japan. KIIC is considered Indonesia’s first industrial zone to be awarded ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications for Quality and Environment Management Systems in 2002, as well as OHSAS 18002:2007 certification for Health and Safety Management Systems.

Achievements

Community Economic Initiative Program, supporting business development activities of surrounding villages through entrepreneurship programs (smallmedium enterprises).

Utilization of PET for Asphalt Pavement: Synergize with the tenant (PT KAO Indonesia) to utilize PET waste as an additive to asphalt mixture, which has been implemented in several road pavements at KIIC Industrial Estate.

KIIC has implemented a conservation area for rare plants, namely Telaga Desa. Telaga Desa Agro Enviro Education Park has become a popular ecotourism destination and a site for biodiversity studies.

EV Charging facilities have been installed in the KIIC Industrial Estate (Karawang International Industrial City). This installation aligns with efforts to support the electric vehicle ecosystem and green infrastructure in the industrial area.

In 2024, the KIIC scored 66% against the performance benchmarks of the international EIP framework. The performance is expected to increase to 87% by the end of the program.
