Prior to joining the GEIPP in May 2020, the DEEP C Industrial Park had approximately 9,415 workers. However, since implementing GEIPP, the park has achieved remarkable improvements in infrastructure and working conditions. These changes not only optimized production efficiency but also transformed DEEP C into an ideal destination for businesses and workers, significantly contributing to the local socio-economic development.
To date, the workforce has increased by 12%, reaching 10,546 employees with 1,131 new jobs created – a clear testament to the success of combining smart investment with building a sustainable production ecosystem.
Reduce: 90,323 m³ of water consumption per year Through housekeeping measures, improving the efficiency of the irrigation system, recovering heat from liquefied gases to cool water, reusing water from production processes, and applying other water-saving solutions throughout the system, businesses in the DEEP C industrial park have reduced water consumption, enhanced water resource efficiency, and contributed to environmental protection while lowering operational costs in their production activities.
UNIDO/GEIPP has worked with DEEP C on adaptation plan to possible negative impacts due to climate change (heat waves, droughts, storms, and flooding events).
Now DEEP C has action plans to mitigate risks from storms and flooding that are put in practice before the rainy season .
Also , DEEP C conducted Flood Risk Analyses for all industrial parks (IPs) adjacent to the sea. Investment plans are updated to cover the risks of a 1/100 flood event.
In 2020, DEEP C achieved 47% of the requirements of the EIP international framework. With the support of the UNIDO/GEIPP, the level of compliance to these requirements has increased to 83%.
